Mapping a nature recovery network at the district level

Summary

This project was funded by Natural England and set out to:

  • collate existing spatial data that could be used to develop habitat maps and recovery maps in Sussex at a district scale
  • work with strategic planners to how spatial NRN mapping could be used in the planning process.

Project outputs included a framework for presenting existing spatial data in a form that will be relevant for LNRS processes once they begin.

Sussex Nature Partnership is currently running a small related project to identify and map all initiatives and partnerships working across Sussex to deliver habitat enhancement and creation.  This work will underpin the preparation of Local Nature Recovery Strategies once they start.
