In March 2023, Government published its regulations and guidance which set out how Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) are to be prepared. In Sussex, two strategies will be prepared: one for West Sussex and one for East Sussex and Brighton & Hove. The respective County Councils will lead the processes to prepare these strategies and will work closely together on this to ensure as much ‘join up’ as possible between the two. Sussex Nature Partnership will play a supportive role where needed but will also work to develop the wider vision and ambition for nature in Sussex that the LNRSs can help to delivery.
